My family and I absolutely loved the tour of the ruins! I can't remember the name of our guide but his storytelling was phenomenal!! We'd like to come again!
Really fun! Excellent guide.
Overseer was very informative, despite all the background noise. His story telling was engaging.
Outstanding, as always! We have gone to numerous events with this company and we have signed up for the Dundurn Castle bus tour in October! Can't wait! Knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging tour guides, always! I really liked being able to go into one of the buildings during this tour Not only to be able to support and learn about new companies, but also to see inside one of the "haunted" buildings!
I went with my 4 of my friends for the Dundas Ghost Walk on friday night 8:45pm (7/26/24). It was so good. Great to walk with like-minded individuals and learn about fascinating history and stories of the past to recents. Daniel (I believe they're name was. Wore a top hat with an awesome vest) they're story telling abilities and voice was amazing. Left a major and lasting impression! With some chills as well. They should do a ghost podcast. I'd listen 100% ahahahaha. Cannot wait to go on more tours and walks. So good.
It was good fun to take in the Ghost Walk on Friday night. The weather was perfect and enjoyable to walk about. The traffic noise was a bit loud as trucks and cars roared at times down King Street but it was really the only distraction. Good to see the town at night with the lovely buildings and architecture. Nice to hear live music coming out of places like the SHED and the alley way at Bangkok Spoon. Our guide was very good and had done his research. As well, there were some folks from Dundas in our tour who knew of some of the stories or had other insights to tell the group. Well worth the stroll.
Amazing Ghost Tour! The guide was incredibly friendly, positive and provided a great experience! We got to learn about some interesting stories and the late night tour added an extra spooky elememt to the walk!
What a great adventure and such gracious tour hosts! Daniel is as super as it gets and Erin, our group tour guide ( lantern in hand ) dressed in themed garb, was absolutely delightful. What a fun way to spend a couple of hours learning about history stories you can only get from oral tradition... and hey, you also get your 'steps' in for the day! A good Heart healthy tour in every way!
my husband and I just finished our ghost walk with the black widow, she was amazing. we've never done one of these before but the history and stories on the walk were great! She's a wonderful storyteller!
I did the Hermitage ghost walk the other night. Par excellence. Having done the Ghost and Vampire walks in New Orleans I honestly did not expect much, but was I wrong!! This was excellent.
I had the distinct pleasure of joining your Dundas ghost Tour with Erin as our guide. Erin was nothing short of remarkable. The plethora of facts and ‘ghost stories’ kept on coming, even down to the minutiae of details: there were 3 toasters used to try and commit arson in the Collins Hotel in the 1990’s. Or is it 4, brother Jim? Erin was very animated and enthusiastic when telling us ghost stories and gruesome facts, which made many of us feeling jittery and spooked! In addition, she can really handle a crowd as there were many interruptions. Erin managed this with aplomb to keep the group engaged. She even kept us intrigued, by not telling us which home was haunted. I can not tell you how much this tour impacted us. I might even look for a realtor in the area! A big THANK YOU to Erin, for making the whole experience an incredible one, to remember.
We took our dad to the Hermitage ghost walk for Fathers Day! He spent a lot of time there as a teen and it was awesome to have Ghost Guide Daniel tell us spooky stories as well as the history of the area. We had a blast! Would definitely go on another tour.
Amazing experience! Our tour guide Daniel was great! Well organized, good email communication and reminders. We did the Hermitage and loved the lore and story telling. Looking forward to attending another one. Highly recommend.
I did the Hermitage ghost walk and I loved it. It was my first time with Ghost Walks of Hamilton. The story telling was excellent and done with so much enthusiasm! It was a great experience that I will do again, probably during the fall if available. If you're into history, old timey vibes and a little bit of spooky, this is it.
I'm so glad I finally had the chance to participate in a Ghost Walk! It was nice to learn about local history and hear some eerie tales. Our guide, Daniel, was a great storyteller. Would definitely book with them again!

FAQ & Interesting Info

Why we are different from other Tours?

A focus on masterful storytelling at a reasonable price.  First, we’ve put special attention into respecting the ghost story.  It has a dedication to traditional styles mixed with natural (and interesting) odd history.  Which has been our specialty since 2003.

Why are dates and times missing when booking?

When a date or time slot is missing in the Booking… If a missing time, that tour time is sold out.  A missing date, means the entire night is sold out.

Is this a Jump-Scare or Traditional Tour?

It’s a normal Traditional Ghost Tour on the City Bus Tour & in the House. Featuring trained storytellers speaking of legends, interesting history and ghost stories. This is not a scare “haunted house”.

Are you connected to HH for Hamilton Tours?

No. There was a connection a few years back for promotion only. Ended in 2012. All Hamilton based, and other tours, originated from our same love of ghost stories starting with Downtown Hamilton in 2003.

Ghost Story from Bus – Auchmar Mansion

Experiencing the Ghosts after Half-A-Century

Strange Days at Blake Holsey High was a TV show on YTV.  Ran from 2002 to 2006.  Why am I talking about this here?

The Gothic “Magic School” they filmed in… was Hamilton Mountain’s Auchmar Mansion

Auchmar Mansion - Hamilton Mountain

This was the first time non-Nuns had entered the building in almost half-a-century!  Meaning, the ghosts of the old Buchanan mansion can finally be noticed.

Such as that one night the Villain (actor Lawrence Bayne) slept over.

He had an early shoot the next morning.  Heading into the back area behind the original house.  They had converted it into a line of dressing rooms for the actors.

Closing the door, lying down on the couch and closing his eyes.

A click!  Opening his eyes.  Half asleep he saw movement at the door.  The knob turning.

He jumped up as the door swung open.  Running into the hall ready to confront whoever was playing this horrible joke.

The hallway empty and quiet.

This and the adorably creepy resident ghost of the house.

Should I book in advance?

Yes.  We are limited on space for tours.  Advance bookings allows us to guarantee spots for you, and book in additional guides if needed.
